What is plankton?
Plankton is a kind. of seafood salad, a mixture of diatoms and various tiny algae from the plant kingdom, also fish eggs and larvae, small shrimp and a wide variety of tiny creatures from the animal kingdom. Vast meadows of plankton float in the seas and fishes come from far and wide to feed upon it.
Other fish come to feed on the plankton fish and they in turn i n are eaten by other fish who are/turn eaten by other fish. Plankton, then, is the basic item in a food chain. On land, we can compare it to grass which feeds rabbits which are eaten by foxes, deer which are eaten by mountain lions, and the cows which supply us with milk and meat,
