WHAT IS INTERPOL?

Interpol is an international organization of police forces. There are Interpol units at the present time in about 100 countries.The official name of Interpol is the International Criminal Police Organization. Members agree to help one another by exchanging information, locating suspects and criminals and also arresting persons wanted for trial in member countries.Delegates from Interpol member countries meet once a year to talk about police problems and approve new members.  Interpol was founded in France in 1923. World headquarters for the organization is in St. Cloud, a Paris suburb.
