WHERE DOES THE WOLF FISH LIVE?
Wolf fish gets its name from its terrifying appearance. This savage fish will try to attack anyone who captures it. It lives in the North Atlantic Ocean and the North Pacific Ocean.
The wolf fish has powerful jaws and its bite can be very painful. It is reddish or grayish in color and has no pelvic fins.
The Atlantic wolf fish grows to be about three feet long. The North Pacific wolf fish, also called the wolf eel, may reach eight feet in length.
The fish spawns large eggs that cluster in a ball.
The wolf fish uses its broad, strong front teeth to crush the shells of the animals it eats. Its flesh tastes much like that of the cod. It is a favorite food in Iceland.
The wolf fish has strong, durable skin that is used to make pouches, book bindings and other articles.
