HOW DOES CORIANDER GROW?
Coriander is an annual herb that grows in the countries around the Mediterranean Sea. The plant grows to be about three feet high and has small white flowers. The seeds of the plant are used as a spice in curries, sauces and liqueurs, and to make candies.
Coriander seeds have a pleasant odor when ripe, and they taste sweet after they have been dried out.
It has been found that coriander is used in Europe more than it is in Canada or the United States. But it is nevertheless very popular. in the United States.
The United States usually imports about 1.4 million pounds of coriander seeds every year.
Coriander seed oil is used to flavor food and it is also used as a medicine. About 500 pounds of coriander seeds yield five pounds of oil.
