Stevie Wonder is regarded by many as one of America's top current entertainers. He is an outstanding composer and is famous for his originality and the force of his music.

The entertainer was born in 1950 in Saginaw, Mich. His real name is Stevland Morris. He has been blind all of his life.

When he was just 12 years old, Wonder recorded his first major success. His first hit was called "Fingertips."

Wonder composes and sings a wide variety of music. One of his most popular records was his 1973 lyrical melody "You Are the Sunshine of My Life."

Some of the popular entertainer's songs are on serious subjects, such as his religious beliefs and social issues concerning the blacks.
