Miles Patterson, age 7, of Hibbing, Minn., for his question:
WHERE DO BOBCATS LIVE?
A bobcat is a North American wildcat that is closely related to the Canada lynx. It stands about 15 inches high at the shoulders, has a tail that is about seven arches long and weighs between 15 and 25 pounds.
Bobcats live across North America. They choose wooded areas and brushy ravines as the places to spend all of their time.
Rabbits, squirrels, gophers and other small animals provide the ideal diet for the wild bobcat.
All bobcats have dark spots on their coats. They range in color from tan to dark reddish brown, depending on where they live. Those in dry areas are pale colored while those in damp areas are darker.
