Kazra Jensen, age 15, of New Bendford, Mass., for her question:
WHERE IS EUROPE'S LONGEST BRIDGE?
Europe's longest bridge is the two mile span in Denmark that connects the nation's largest island, Zealand, and the island of Falster. Called the Storstrom Bridge, it forms part of a highway known as the Europe Road.
Denmark also has a number of other long and important bridges including the one more than a half mile long that connects the mainland of Jutland and the Island of Fyn.
Jutland, the Danish peninsula that connects to West Germany with a 42 mile border, makes up about 70 percent of the country's area. Around this peninsula are 482 islands, 100 of which are inhabited by Danes. The 382 on which no one lives make up an area of only 18 square miles, so you can see that most of them are tiny.
Denmark's capital city, Copenhagen, is located on Zealand island. Fyn, Falster, Lolland, Bornholm and Zealand are the nation's five major islands.
