How cold does it get at the top of Asia?
The northern tip of Asia is the coast of Siberia. This ragged jagged shoreline dips its icy fingers far into the icy waters of the Arctic Ocean. Here the sun does not set throughout the summer months and during the long cold months of winter it does not rise. Winter brings alight snowfalls and bitter gales howl down from the north pole. The land is flat tundra# frozen through most of the year. In summer the surface thaws and the bleak region becomes a waterlogged swamp.
The average summer temperature is around 50 degrees! but there may be warm spells of 80 degrees. During the long winter night, the temperature varies between minus 40 degrees and minus 60 degrees. Strange to say# the winters are much colder further south in the hearty of Siberia.
