How much of the human body is water?

Your body seems so firm and solid. Your hair and nails are very dry and the skin which covers the whole body is free from moisture, It is hard to believe that the body is made mostly of water, but this is true. The dampness inside your mouth, the moisture constantly bathing your bright ayes hint that there is a lot of water under the skin. The skin in fact, helps to prevent too much of the inner moisture from evaporating,

In a healthy person, between 65 and 70 per cent of the entire body weight is plain water. Suppose your total weight is 100 pounds. A little more than 60 pounds will be water. This means that there is seven or eight gallons of water inside your skin.
