Donna MacKenzie, age 12, of Oromoc for her question:
No person of the ancient world was well traveled until he had seen the famous Seven Wonders. He traveled to Babylon to see the famous Hanging Gardens, terrace upon terrace of trees and gardens. He saw the Pharos, the great lighthouse of Alexandria. In Asia Minor he visited the tomb of King Mausolus, known as the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and the dazzling temple of Diana of Ephesus.
He saw the great statue of Zeus in his temple at Olympia, This work of art, made of ivory and gold, was 40 feet high. He went to the Grecian Isle of Rhodes and saw the Colossas, a bronze statue of Helios, the sun god, 105 feet tall, He also went to Egypt to see the great pyramids, the only one of the famous seven wonders still standing.
