The earth, of course, is four times bigger than the moon, but, we are told, certain factors make it appear 13 times larger than the moon appears to us. It hangs more or less stationary in one part of the sky. From some places on the moon the earth stands high over head, from others it stands near the horizon. The shadows of night and the brilliance of day also can be seen chasing each other across the earth and our globe goes through phases somewhat like the phases we see on the face of the moon.
