Where exactly is Tibet?

The country of Tibet is nestled among the peaks and valleys of the lofty Himalayas, tallest mountains in the world. Most of its surface is a plateau more Than three miles above sea level. It is rimmed on all sides with walls of mountains. Its southern borders look down upon India and Burma, and its northern mountains Reach far into china.  Tibet has been called the roof of the world, and moutains in western Tibet is said to be the highest place in the world inhabited by human beings. The country covers an area of almost 500,000 square miles, some of which has never been explored.
