Welcome to You Ask Andy

Elinor Raley, Age 9, Of Huntsville,, Ala., for her question:

Can the sun move?

Everything in the universe, it seems, is on the move, and our sun is as busy as all the other stars in the sky. It is a blazing ball of gases spinning around like a fiery top. Our sun is 860,000 miles around the middle, and it takes 25 days for This big, fat waist to turn around once. As our beaming sun spins around, it smiles On us with one side and then another.     The sun also takes its family of planets on a trip around the heavens.   All our stars belong in a giant pinwheel called the Milky Way. The star we call our sun is busy orbiting around with the milky way at the staggering speed of 170 miles a second.
