Gary Cutmore., Age 14,, Of Shawriee, Okla., For his question:
Where is the world's largest body of fresh water?
The largest body of fresh water in the world is in the middle of North America. It is Lake Superior, largest of the great lakes. The vast body of fresh water covers an area of 31,820 square miles, which is almost half the area of the state of Oklahoma.. The second largest fresh water lake is in Africa. It is Lake Victoria, 5000 square miles smaller in area than our Lake Superior. Lake Huron is fourth on the list of the world's largest fresh water lakes, and World's Lake Michigan is fifth. The largest lake, however, is the Caspian Sea. It is some four times larger than Lake Superior, but the Caspian Sea is a salt water lake.
