Which is the deepest of the Great Lakes?
The surfaces of the Great Lakes are higher than the surface of the ocean, but four of them have roots that dip down below sea level. The biggest and the deepest is Lake Superior and its floor is deepest where it points a tapering finger to the west. Here the surface of Lake Superior is 602 feet above sea level and its floor is 1,892 feet deep.
The surface of Lake Michigan is 500 feet above sea level and its deepest dip is 1,503 feet below the surface. The floor of Lake Erie, the shallowest lake, it’s way above sea level and its waters are only 210 feet deep
