Where was the sun during the Ice Age?
We cannot blame the old sun for shirking his duty during the bitterly cold Ice Ages. He was right up there in the sky, rising in the morning and setting in the evening, just as he does every day, We are not sure what caused the long spell of wintery weather, but certainly the sun was in his usual place in the sky.
Experts say that the year round temperature was perhaps only a little cooler than it is today. If our winters and summers, were, say, ten degrees cooler, we could expect another Ice Age. The summers in most places would not be warm enough to melt the snow of winter and year by year the snow piles would grow into giant glaciers.
