Where do we find titanium?
Pure titanium, a silvery white metal, is as strong as the best steel, but 25% lighter. Steel will rot in sea water, titanium refuses to rust in sea salt water and in many strong acids. It is ductile and can be pulled into a fine thread and it has a high melting point.
The valuable metal is the ninth most plentiful element in the earths crust, yet it is too expensive for everyday use. This 3.s because we have not yet discovered an easy way to separate the metal from its ores. Titanium ores, such as rutile and ilmenite, are plentiful in many southeastern regions of the United States. Other valuable deposits of titanium ores occur in Brazil, Canada, Australia, Norway and India.
