The spiders are small animals and many of them live tucked away in the most unexpected places. For this reason there still may be a few types of spider which have not yet been discovered. However, an enormous number of them have already been named and classified. We know that there are at least 20,000 of them.

We all know of the house spider, the orb spinner and the black widow. We have heard of the big tarantulas, the trap door spider and the tiny spiders that pester the flowers. But this is merely the beginning of the vast horde of different spiders that share our planet.
