How much does the moon weigh?

In round figures, our solid old moon tips the scales at 75 quintillion tons. This is the number 75 followed by 18 zeros. Heavy as this seams, the moon is actually a light weight compared with the earth. It is almost a quarter as big as the earth   but it would take 82 of our moons to equal the weight of the earth.

This is because the moon is made of much lighter material than the earth. The ratio between these factors give the moon its gravity  which works out to be merely one sixth of the earths gravity.
