How fast does a planet orbit?

Each planet orbits at its own speed and those nearer the sun travel faster than those farther away. The average orbital speed of Mercury is about 36 miles a second, of Venus 22 miles a second. The Earth, third from the sun orbits at about 18 and 1/2 miles a second and the orbital speed of Mars averages about 15 miles a second,

Giant Jupiter pokes around its orbit at an average speed or" eight miles a second and Saturn at six miles a second. The average orbital speed of Uranus is 4.25 miles a second, of Neptune 3.4 miles a second and Pluto dawdles around the farthest orbit about three miles a second.
