Johnny More age 12, of Pullan , Oregon; 'for his question:
What is catnip?
Catnip is a fragrant weed of the mint family, a close cousin of the fragrant spearmint and peppermint. Its furry leaves are shaped like hearts, green above and greenish white below. In the right side, the plant bears dainty spots of pinkish white blossoms and in some par t s of the country the catnip grows by the wayside as a common weed.
Miss Puss, however, is not interested in this down to earth description of the catnip plant. For her, the minty leaves of the weedy plant are just too wonderful for words of any kind. One whiff and sire rolls over in ecstacy. Sometimes she sips a crumb or two of the love stuff curl her tongue or rolls a few crumbs of the dried leaves into her furry coat.
