Welcome to You Ask Andy

Larry Allen Morris, Age 9. Of Maysville, Ky., for his questions

Do other planets have gravity?

Every planet has its share of gravity., and this powerful force depends upon the size and weight of each planet. Gravity pulls down a falling stone and gives weight to objects on the surface of a planet. On giant jupiter., a 100 pound earth boy would weigh 264 pounds.

On Venus, the same boy would weigh 85 pounds and on mars 36 pounds. These smaller planets have less gravity because they weigh less than our earth. On Uranus the boy would weigh 98  pounds, yet this bulky planet is 64 times bigger than the earth. Uranus has less gravity because it is made of material which is lighter than water.
