Where is Sable Island?
It is a low sandy island about 20 miles long and no more than one mile wide. Yet in the last century., sable island claimed over 200 ocean going ships. In the past.. It was known as the graveyard of the atlantic., and no one knows how many ships have been wrecked off its shores.
Sable island is in the north atlantic about 100 miles south of Nova Scotia. It lies in the shipping lanes between europe and america., where the stormy sea is often shrouded with fog. There are no land marks to warn pilots., for trees refuse to grow on the wand swept island. Lighthouses have been built,, only to be washed away by the sea,
