Marcia levy, Age 12, of way, for her question:
How much bigger is the Pacific than the Atlantic?
The Pacific Ocean is more than twice the area of the Atlantic. You can imagine the area with the flat pieces of a jig saw puzzle. You could take the flat, blue pieces from the Atlantic and place them on top of the Pacific. You would need two sets of Atlantic pieces and still the Pacific would not be covered completely. In fact, the area left over would be a little bigger than the states of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and. Maine.
The vast Pacific is larger than all the land in the world. It covers an area of 63,801,600 square miles. The Atlantic is less than half the size of the Big Ocean. Its area is 31,830,770 square miles.
