Michael Conway, Age 10, of any, N.Y.. For his question:
Which is the Smallest furry animal?
You might mistake the tiny fellow for a mouse, a very small mouse. The little midget is but two inches long, plus one inch of tail, and altogether he weighs about as much as a new, penny. He is a shrew and, so far as we know, the smallest furry animal in the world.
His short, ve1vety coat is mousy grey, and he has a pointed nose. But regardless of his looks, the shrew is not related to the mouse. He is distantly related to the moles. He has a family tree dating back to the dinosaurs, and his remote ancestors were the very first furry animals to eat and live in our world.
