How many stars are there in the sky?

On a clear night, there seem to be billions of stars in the sky    and so there are. But Our eyes Can See Only a few of them as separate stars, and it would be hard to count them one by one. It is estimated that We can See only about 2000 stars at one time. Another 2000 can be seen from the opposite side of the globe.

A teleseope, of course, can spot numbers of dim and distant stars which We cannot See with our eyes alone. And the Milky Way is the hazy light from hosts of distant stars. The entire Milky Way contains roughly 100 billion stars, and a goodly section of the vast system arches over our Skys. But Our eyes call See Only about 2000 individuals., even when the velvety night sky seems to be teeming with stars.
