Robert Moyor, Age 13, Of Taber, Alberta, Canada, for his question:
Is there scientific proof of life in space?
There is no scientific proof that living things exist on other planets. But there is a lot of evidence that suggests that ours is not the only populated world in the universe.
The most logical suggestion for life on other worlds is a mathematical one. The elements and conditions throughout the universe are limited, and the same laws of chemistry operate everywhere. In our galaxy alone there are 100 billion suns, many or most of them with planets. It would be unreasonable to suppose that our little world is the only place where living things developed and flourished.
