Is it true that a whale has a baby just like humans?
The great whales arcs warm blooded mammals like ourselves. And, like human beings, the mother whale gives birth to a live baby. She carries tile unborn whale in her body for from 10 to 12 months. When he is born, if he is a blue whale baby, the little fellow may measure about 25 foot and weigh only a few tons.
His mother takes him up for his first breath of air and tends foods him with milk for maybe a whole year. Under her loving care, junior may double his size and weight in about a year. By his third birthday, the young follow is fully grown. He may measure up to 85 feet from nose to tail.
