What is hard water?

Precipitation which falls from the clouds is pure, or soft water for it gathers but a small amount of chemicals such as carbon dioxide and soot from the air. Our reservoirs, however, mostly gather their watJ,r from countless streams. This water has seeped through the soil and yapped the stony river beds. And water tends to c'issolve mineral chemicals and carry them away,

Host of our water supplies, then, carry loads of these dissolved chemicals. We call this hard water. We cannot see these dissolved chemicals, but they react with soap to form grimy scum instead of foamy bubbles, If hard water is run through certain salt chemicals, the dissolved chemicals are leached out and the water becomes soft.
