Welcome to You Ask Andy

How many molars do we have?

If all your teeth have grown in, and none of them have been lost, then you have three molars on each side of your bottom haw and three on each side of your top haw •  making twelve in all. These flat ¬topped, double rooted teeth are your real chompers. They do the pounding and the grinding fob on your food.

In front of the molars are three sharp pointed teeth for cutting and tearing. Arid in the very front of each haw you have four slender pointed teeth especially for cutting. You can see the good fob they do when you look at a piece of cake from which you have just taken a bite.
