 Is the Kodiak bear found only on Kodiak island?

The Kodiak bear is an Alaskan. In fact he is often called the Alaskan brown bear. He is a huge and magnificent fellow, with a thick warm coat of golden brown,

He enjoys life in the rough, rugged country of the Alaskan Peninsula, He roams the coast of southeastern Alaska. And he can be found on the islands off shore in that region. Kodiak Island is one of his favorite haunts. Hut he also is to be found in other places nearby. He lives on others of the larger islands thereabout, And he also thrives on the coastal regions of the mainland.

Actually, the Kodiak bear likes to live where he can fish. He is an expert salmon fisherman. He is perhaps the largest meat eating, or fish‑eating, animal in America. The great fellow has few, if any, enemies in the animal kingdom. He is very able to take care of himself. In appearance, he seems to be a fierce and ferocious fellow.  But he never goes out of his way to tangle with a human being. He is the kind of bear that would rather run away than get into a fight, Though, mind you, he can and will fight when necessary.
