Does an elephant have any fur?

The mammals give birth to live babies and feed them on mothers milk  They are warm••bloodeds air  ‑breathing animals with coats of fur or hair, Mrs* Jumbo is certainly a mammal, pet her coat is far from furry  In fact, she seems to be totally bald  This, however, is not quite true  The akin of the elephants an inch thick, is covered with hair, You may not notice them, but there are bristles about one inch apart all over this wide expanse of skin

The big whale and the pig also seem to be hairless mammals  But they' too have a sparse spattering of hairs and the ancestors of all these animals were covered with hairy mammal clothing
