Does it ever snow in the desert?

Many of the world’s deserts are in warm regions, in or near the sunny tropics. Here there is no winter snow, no snow at all except on the tops of the tallest mountains. But there are also deserts in northerly regions where winter brings snows and bitter blizzards. Here the deserts too have snow once in a while.

Deserts form because the climate is dry, The air above them drinks ‑rp more water than the rainfall or the snowfall. Snow and rain are both rare in desert regions. However, snow sometimes falls in the Gobi desert of Asia, The desert of Utah gets some snow and once in a while snow falls on the deserts of our southwest.
